THAI HOUSE Thai Home-Style Restaurant Case Study | Shuangou Material Space Solution

In the past, restaurant design focused more on “decoration style.” But today, more and more outstanding commercial spaces are starting to think about: How can a restaurant form its own brand memory? The answer is shifting from styling toward materials. Truly sophisticated spaces are not about piling on decorative elements, but about establishing a unique spatial language through materials, colors, and textures.

THAI HOUSE, a Thai home-style restaurant, is exactly such a case. It does not simply replicate traditional Thai symbols. Instead, through the combination of natural materials and modern design, it creates a space that presents: Eastern Natural Sensibility × Thai Lifestyle × Contemporary Commercial Aesthetics, A fusion experience. In this project, Shuangou was not merely supplying a few tiles, but starting from spatial expression, participating in building the material coordination logic.

Starting from the Storefront: Materials Become the Brand’s First Business Card

The competition in dining spaces has moved from “attracting consumers inside” to “making consumers remember.” The storefront of THAI HOUSE features Shuangou Crescent Terracotta Tiles.

Terracotta naturally possesses: Soil-like warm colors; Delicate handcrafted variations; Textures shaped by time.

It does not use overly commercialized light boxes or complex structures, but instead uses the material itself to create recognition. When consumers pass by the storefront, what they first sense is not an advertising sign, but a spatial character. This is also the future development trend of commercial storefronts: Moving from visual stimulation to material memory. A tile with unique texture can become a long-lasting visual symbol for the brand.

Floor Design: Using Limestone Terracotta Castle Tiles to Establish the Spatial Tone

Upon entering the interior, the floor determines the emotion of the entire space. THAI HOUSE chose Shuangou Limestone Terracotta Castle Tiles as the floor material.

This material combines:The natural texture of natural stone, The warm touch of terracotta tiles, and the architectural sense brought by castle tile patterning.

It gives the space a sense of sophistication that feels “unforced.” Paired with wooden furniture, rattan seating, and warm lighting, the entire restaurant presents: As natural as a Thai family dining table, Yet as refined as a boutique restaurant. The requirements for restaurant flooring are also changing: Floors are no longer just about load-bearing, They are becoming a vital component of spatial ambiance.

Color and Material Coordination: Making the Bar Counter the Visual Center of the Space

The cashier and bar area uses the Shuangou Leather Champagne series. This area carries the important functions of: Welcoming, interaction, and brand display.

Champagne color sits between: The naturalness of beige, The refinement of metallic colors, The warmth of leather tones. It forms a soft transition with wood, terracotta, and stone, giving the space richer layers. In commercial spaces, different areas require different material languages:

The entrance needs memory points, The floor needs stability, The bar counter needs visual focus. The value of material coordination is to let each spatial node play its own role.

Sideboard Wall: Shuangou Aurora Series Creates Spatial Details

The sideboard wall area uses the Shuangou Aurora Series. The greatest charm of small-format tiles is their ability to produce rich variations through arrangement. Under lighting, The subtle texture of the tile surface, Color variations, Gloss reflections, All create dynamic effects. This material is very suitable for commercial spaces like: Sideboard Feature Walls Bar Areas Open Kitchens Brand Display Walls. Because it doesn’t steal attention from the main space, Yet elevates the detail experience during dwell time. Truly sophisticated restaurants are often not complex at first glance, But continually reveal details after you sit down.

Future Restaurant Space Trends: From Decoration to Spatial Expression

From the THAI HOUSE case, we can see several shifts happening in restaurant design.

Trend One: From “Theming” to “Cultural Expression”

Past: Thai restaurant = abundant tropical elements, decorative symbols.

Future: Thai restaurants will increasingly distill from local culture:

Natural colors, Lifestyle, Material textures. Let consumers feel the culture, not see the symbols.

Trend Two: From “Good-Looking” to “Memorable”

Future restaurants compete not just on dishes, But also on spatial experience. Consumers will remember: A distinctive wall, A unique material, A comfortable atmosphere. Materials are becoming part of brand equity.

Trend Three: From Single Material Procurement to Holistic Material Solutions

For designers, the biggest challenge now is not finding a beautiful tile. It is: how to create relationships between materials. Storefront, floor, bar counter, walls — How to form a unified spatial language? This is also the direction Shuangou has been focused on.

Shuangou: Not Just Selling Tiles and Materials, but Studying How Materials Create Spaces

Shuangou has always focused on: The relationship between materials and space. We draw inspiration from global commercial space trends, Study how different materials are applied in hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, and concept stores,

Through: Material coordination logic, Color relationship analysis, Spatial application solutions, Real project case studies. Helping designers discover more possibilities for spatial expression. Because a single tile is just a material. But when it enters a space, It can become a brand story, A consumer memory, Part of design truly coming to life. From THAI HOUSE, To more commercial space case studies, Shuangou hopes to be not just a material supplier, But: from material research to spatial expression, bringing design to life.
